Tenants receive it

Housing is abundant but for some reason the syndicates operating out of the various societies are the ones which are making it seem so less.
Rentals or be it the property prices ,both are being manipulated to make the gullible consumer look so helpless.
An executive or a student who looks for an apartment or a ` barsati' have to shell out a fortune to get some of it which may provide him with some reason to rejoice in the abode he has chosen.
The smirky smile of the broker or the Landlord a term which seems more colonial or ancient has never let go the characteristics it carries alongwith.
Walking happily into the trap the family settles down to enjoy the fruits of the labour (househunting was no less),gradually succumbing to the foreplay of living in a house owned by `the landlord'.
His customary 11 month lease is like a prenuptial agreement which deters him for carrying on the `marriage' longer than that. After some blissful days he feels some traces of white or is it some color which had seduced him fall into his laps or into the glass of wine he had prepared with so much finesse. Looking up ,at the roof he stands underneath, has a wicked smile and is in a state of undress.
A family man ,the hapless tenant rushes to the erstwhile `landlord' who displays his wicked smile and reminds the `tenant 'of the paltry sum he is paying compared to what he would have actually got. Oh and he does mention that the office manager calls him regularly to let him know that the rentals are going up so speedily and mentions the term steep so often and that the Apartment is now probably the most wanted one (leaving the likes of the DON behind) at a price which would make eyes pop out.
The helplessness writ large on his face, the poor tenant sleeps over his woes only to be rudely woken up by the droplets of water falling on him with alacrity.
Well this time its for the President of the society who makes a speech (is he making it to his countrymen) convincing enough to make the poor tenant believe that his `countrymen'. are so lucky to have water coming in from all sides, considering the taps are dry in our so beautiful city.
Oh the family is so overjoyed and places some buckets underneath to enjoy the water falling ,as if it was a Niagra fall in slow motion.
As the poor tenant steps out to pay his monthly dues the office manager tells him so proudly that the apartment cost has gone up by few lacs and is now worth a crore and believe him he is so lucky to have it at a rental so low.
Oh the poor guy comes trudging back to his carefully chosen abode thanking GOD that at least he has a roof to stay underneath.Whom can he blame after all.

The greed for money and the `kalyugi' tendencies never leave the humans. Man is waiting for his prey' so that he can pounce upon it with a vigor which stands unconquered.
It is disgusting to see the values mankind has taken upon himself to run his life with.A feeling of guilt or remorse is miles away as he stands there fleecing another member of his race.Rationalism, humanity and understanding dont exist now . Make money out of everything you can is his motto.

Should not the government appoint a monitoring authority ,area wise to ensure that all the societies are monitored and residents are not taken for a ride. Why should everything be court driven ?
Let there be a GoM (Group of Members) who ensure that the benefit is mutual and not lop sided. Will it not deter the middle men from making money because the system has a flaw.
The Govt loses so much of revenue because of flaws and it is the common man who pays for it.Well give it a thought ,the Benefit is permanent not on `Rentals'.
